All star tournament teams

All Star teams are formed toward the end of the in-house rec program. All Star teams are selected by ratings of the in-house coaches. Each coach submits ratings from 16 to 1, rating their top choice as 16 down to 1. The values are added to rank each player.

  • A Teams are formed from the top 5 rated players and 3 coaches picks.
  • B Teams are formed from the next top 5 rated players and 3 coaches pick.
  • Split squad teams are formed from the top ranking players.

The NBA usually sponsors Allstar teams as follows:

  • 3rd Grade - 2 teams of 8 players - equal teams - split squad
  • 4th Grade - 2 teams of 8 players - equal teams - split squad
  • 5th Grade - 2 teams of 8 players - A team (div 1) & B team (div 2)
  • 6th Grade - 2 teams of 8 players - A team (div 1) & B team (div 2)

"A winner is someone who recognizes his God- given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."

- Larry Bird

"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

- Michael Jordan

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."

- Henry Ford

"The idea is not to block every shot. The idea is to make your opponent believe that you might block every shot."

- Bill Russell

"The best teams have chemistry - they communicate with each other and they sacrifice personal glory for the common goal."

- Dave DeBusschere

“I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot...and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why... I succeed.”

- Michael Jordan

"If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes."

- John Wooden
